On May 9, 2026 join the community for the annual Adopt a River! Adopt a River was started by BWL in 1994 to restore pride in one of our area’s great natural resources. The event encourages businesses, unions, schools and civic groups to adopt sections of the Grand and Red Cedar rivers and to keep their banks and nearby areas clean and free from litter.
Please note: Individuals or groups that register by May 1 will be entered into a raffle to win a free suite for up to 20 people, to a Lansing Lugnuts home game!
As a participant, please:
Bring your own gloves for clean-up
Enjoy a complimentary water bottle to be filled at the tap
Event details:
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
Brunch begins at 10:30 a.m.
Free entry into Impression 5 Science Center after the cleanup
Tree giveaways and flower planting for Mother’s Day
