Experience dynamic learning environments through LEARN517, a homeschool partnership program that explores a monthly theme through the disciplines of art, nature, science, and history. Each program partner hosts a Thursday homeschool session from 1:30-3 p.m. based on the following calendar:

1st week of each month – REACH Studio Art Center

2nd week of each month – Woldumar Nature Center

3rd week of each month – Impression 5 Science Center

4th week of each month – Michigan History Center

REACH (Week 1)
Discover new art techniques and explore elements and principles of art through structured lessons or Open Art Labs.
Structured Art Lesson Cost: $12 per student (additional students from same family, same month $2 discount)
Open Art Lesson Cost: $8 per participant per session

Woldumar (Week 2)
Explore the great outdoors and learn more about the natural science in your own backyard as you hike our trails, view demonstrations, play games, and perform experiments.
Cost: $5.00 per student or $4.00 per student if multiple children in family

Impression 5 Science Center (Week 3)
Come explore the world of science with open-ended activities that will build scientific vocabulary, promote hands-on exploration, and more! Scroll down for full descriptions of our upcoming classes!

Michigan History Center (Week 4)
Come in and experience Michigan’s rich past through four floors of exhibit space. Learn history through activities, demonstrations and discussions with History Center staff.
Cost: $5.00 per student and $4 per adult

Explore how absorption and reflection determine what colors you see, and how you can create “rainbows” indoors using refraction through a prism. We will design and build kaleidoscopes to learn about reflections from light.
