Announcing our newest traveling exhibit, Creatividad silvestre | Wild Creativity! The experience explores biomimicry concepts through hands-on, interactive design and engineering challenges inspired by our natural world. 

How does a kangaroo gain energy as it bounces? Why do birds have different beaks? Explore how animals and nature work in unique, sustainable, and efficient ways, and how we can continue to use this unending inspiration to solve new and pressing challenges. 

Creatividad silvestre | Wild Creativity  is available for exploration from September 19 to January 10 and is free with admission. Developed by the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry this exhibit is supported by the Dart Foundation.

Leave Earth behind and travel interspace for an experience unline any other. Destination Mars puts budding astronauts and space explorers to the test when they attempt to source their own food, shelter, and solve problems in an unknown world. Visitors should prepare to tackle many unique challenges including driving a 4-D Surface Exploration Vehicle, flying a virtual drone to solve environmental  issues, and experiencing G-Force in a spinning capsule.

Destination Mars will be at your Science Center until September 6 and is proudly supported by Dart Foundation, MSUFCU Desk Drawer Foundation, and Choose Lansing.

Explore the newest exhibit at your Science Center, Megawatt! This interactive exhibit will help you explore the science behind electricity production throughout Michigan! Understand the relationship between the choices we make in energy production and the impact those choices have on the environment around us. What will the future of electricity production in Michigan look like? In Megawatt, you can decide!

Megawatt is proudly supported by the Consumers Energy Foundation and the Michigan Arts & Culture Council.

Experience the wonder of nuclear science in this new interactive exhibit that explores atoms and their journeys of acceleration, collision, separation, and detection in simulated environments that illustrate the research happening now at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) at Michigan State University.

Built entirely here at the Science Center, this exhibit also explores a variety of jobs and skillsets that make the research at FRIB possible. It also features Isotopolis, an exploratory game about the process of discovering rare isotopes. In the game, players accelerate particles and assemble new isotopes in the effort to complete the table of nuclides in a process inspired by what goes on at the nanoscopic level within a particle accelerator. Immerse yourself in nanoscale science, engineering, and technology! This exhibit introduces you to real world nano applications and explores the societal adn ethical implications of this new technology. Play with magnetic materials and more!

What types of structures can you build? How does gravity, tension, and compression affect your structure? Get ready to become an engineer as you build with a variety of materials. Build Zone features magnetic Panelcraft, bridge building, blocks, and more! This exhibit promotes team building and problem solving. What will you create together?

In POP!, exploe how soap and water molecules interact to create the structure of a bubble. Learn about the chemistry of soap films, create beautiful forms and colors, and even stand inside a giant bubble!

What does the world look like through the eyes of a naturalist? Explore the natural environments of Michigan while never setting foot outside the Science Center! With a variety of new technological tools, challenge your thinking skills as you get up close and personal with living systems, just like a naturalist in the field!

Part outdoor education space, part art installation, part place to contemplate the universe, the Planet Walk Plaza brings us closer together and helps us create more meaningful connections to art and science within greater Lansing.
