Impression 5 Science Center Scout Program

The Scout Program at Impression 5 is curated for many differet age ranges and themes, allowing both Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts to participate in fun and interactive science learning. All programs are designed with hands-on activities to meet the requirements for different badges (Girl Scouts) and belt loops (Cub Scouts), and science-focused themes that provide learners with opportunities to get creative and innovative. Learners will work through challenges using their science knowledge, develop teamwork skills with their fellow scouts, and reflect on their experiences to further their understanding of the world around them.

 

Who: All Scouts

What: Impression 5 Scout program and admission to the Science Center.

Time: 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Math in Nature (Grade Level K - 3rd)

September 27, 2025

Scouts will observe and investigate the shapes and numbers around them while learning about the connection between math, art, and the natural world! We will investigate tree rings, make observations about birds, and study the art of natural symmetry.

 

Awards

Girl Scouts: Daisies and Brownies will receive the Shapes in Nature, Numbers in Nature, and Design with Nature Badges.

Cub Scouts: Cub Scouts will complete the following Adventures.

  • Lion - Count on Me

  • Tiger - Stories in Shapes

  • Wolf - Code of the Wolf

  • Bear - Baloo the Builder

 

Create Design & Innovate (Grade Level K - 5th)

November 22, 2025

Scouts will be exploring the world of design, with a chance to create their own artworks, gadgets, and toys! We will be learning about the engineering process and showing how crucial creaticity is for innovation.

 

Awards

Girl Scouts: Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors will receive the Art and Design, Craft and Tinker, and Create and Innovate Badges.

Cub Scouts: Cub Scouts will complete the following Adventures.

  • Lion - Gizmos and Gadgets

  • Tiger - Designed by a Tiger

  • Wolf - Air of the Wolf

  • Bear - Baloo the Builder

 

Robotics (Grade Level 4th - 8th)

January 24, 2026

Scouts will have a chance to learn about the world of engineering and robotics through experience; participants will look at the diversity of robotic technologies across a variety of fields, as well as design their own creations using LEGO robotics kits!

 

Awards

Girl Scouts: Junior and Cadette scouts will receive their Programming Robots, Designing Robots, and Showcasing Robots Badges.

Cub Scouts: Cub Scouts will complete the following Adventures.

  • Webelos - Modular Design

  • Arrow of Light - Engineer

 

Coding Technology (Grade Level K-3rd)

April 18, 2026

Scouts will be learning about the language of computers through interactive games, as well as exploring the world of technology all around us. We will be taking a look inside a computer and even creating digital art!

 

Awards

Girl Scouts: Daisies and Brownies will receive their Coding Basics Badge and their Digital Game Design Badge.

Cub Scouts: Cub Scouts will complete the following Adventures.

  • Lion - Everyday Tech

  • Tiger - Tech All Around

  • Wolf - Computing Wolves
