Step into the vibrant world of I Am Wild, a hands-on exhibit inspired by artist Charley Harper’s bold, colorful style of “minimal realism.” This unique exhibit explores six lively habitats including the Desert, Ocean, Rainforest, Sky, Woods, and City. Children and families will discover the beauty and connections of the natural world, while fostering an appreciation for the diversity of wildlife. Additionally, visitors can view a collection of Harper’s artworks, highlighting his favorite subjects and printmaking methods he used during his career. Interact with colorful birds, animals, and insects in these unique habitats through plenty of hands-on activities, including:
- Playing hide and seek with woodland creatures.
- Creating your own soundscapes with different bird calls.
- Acting like your favorite creatures.
- Exploring art making in Harper’s style of minimal realism.
I Am Wild will be at your Science Center until January 4 and is locally supported by the Dart Foundation.
